Our Mission

       Our mission of Mahone’s Tavern and Museum is the preservation and restoration of Mahone’s Tavern for the purpose of educating the public about the history of the Tavern, the people who resided there and their contributions to local and Virginia history. We will accomplish our mission through public education and other varied activities which promote the tavern’s history and through the solicitation of funds and grants to support these efforts.

       Mahone’s Tavern and Museum was incorporated in 2008. It is chartered in Virginia as a non-profit corporation. Contributions are tax deductible.
